I never really "got" using sticks or cowbells for clicks- they are annoying to listen to and prone to headphone leakage/crosstalk, etc, but some people insist on them. In the dialog box that appears, set the click value to 8ths or 16ths or whatever. Hint: you can set PT's click to play note subdivisions by dropping a new meter marker. It's a basic plug but I don't think it's that bad as long as it's set to that.
I also don't mind PT's basic "Click" plug when set to MPC click. One company even makes a " Click Kicker" that converts any click sound to a Urei click. Urei click with no accent is generally what is always used on scoring sessions. I like the Urei click sounds a lot, since it's what I'm used to.
